When Carlo and Pilar told us about their idea of a wedding, they pictured both the calm of a small village in the Abruzzo hinterland, one of those places where everyone knows each other, and the open horizon of the sea. Two souls of Abruzzo they wanted to bring together on the same day.
On 15 August 2025, in front of 170 guests, they were married in a village church in the hinterland of Chieti: stone houses, woods and green hills all around, the quiet of the mountains yet not too far from the sea. Then, heading down towards the coast, the reception at the Plaza in Vasto, on the hill overlooking the gulf, with a view that takes in the entire coastline of Abruzzo and Molise.
One of the threads tying the hills and the sea together was the floral design: peach roses, blue and pink hydrangeas, daisies and yellow wildflowers, the same colours from the church steps all the way to the arch facing the Adriatic.
The journey
From the hills to the sea, in a single day
The first meeting
Carlo and Pilar come to us with a simple, clear idea: to marry in their home village, the one in the province of Chieti they are so attached to, and to celebrate with a sea view. They suggest Ferragosto 2025 as the date, hardly an easy one to manage with the huge influx of tourists on the Adriatic coast.
Ceremony and reception
We set the timing of the ceremony and choose the reception venue together. Our choice is the Plaza in Vasto, with a bright hall beneath a large Swarovski-style chandelier, a kitchen that blends the traditions of Abruzzo, Molise and Apulia, gardens and gazebos for the aperitivo and, above all, a terrace looking out over the whole coast. We plan the guests' transfer from the hills to the sea so that the day never loses its rhythm.
The floral design
We design a palette that tells the story of an Abruzzo summer, from peach, dusty pink and light blue to the yellow of wildflowers, with plenty of green. Lush, natural arrangements, never stiff, designed to live both on the pale stone of the church and in the white and light of the reception. Pilar's bouquet echoes the peach roses with small touches of wildflowers.
Music, photo and video
We select a photographer and a videographer able to capture every location of this special day with the same ease, and we build the soundtrack: music in church, a live saxophonist to set the reception alight and a DJ for the party late into the night.
Final coordination
In the weeks before Ferragosto we fine-tune timings, transfers, the set-up in the church and at the Plaza, and the seating chart beneath the cascade of flowers. Carlo and Pilar arrive at the big day knowing exactly what will happen, with nothing to take care of.
The big day
The morning among the stone houses of the village, the "I do" in the village church, the flowers on the steps and the green hills all around. Then the sea: a dreamlike venue with a floral arch, the Adriatic ahead and a lunch planned down to the smallest detail with a view over the Abruzzo coast. Cutting the cake between sparkling fountains, late into the night.

A Ferragosto between green and blue
"We wanted to get married in our little village in the Abruzzo hinterland and celebrate by the sea, on Ferragosto. Making that combination work seemed difficult, but instead everything fell perfectly into place, from the "I do" in church to the very last dance. We enjoyed the day knowing we were in good hands."
